[0:16] when I had been in my darkest moment I
[0:19] happy to read the power of now what
[0:22] Eckart Tolle a had to say about
[0:23] happiness has been the impetus to go on
[0:25] this journey it was in vancouver to meet
[0:28] him you were there on a park bench for
[0:34] two years and you you slept on the park
[0:39] bench rally but i did spend most of the
[0:44] dice on park benches in parks different
[0:47] parks in dungeons
[0:50] did you eat three meals a day
[0:52] no no one meal a day if i was lucky as
[1:02] you sit here is it possible for you to
[1:06] simply watch what's happening around you
[1:12] without adding any interpretation to it
[1:15] to just be present with what is and you
[1:19] get a taste in what it's like to be on a
[1:22] park bench with nothing further needing
[1:28] to be added to this moment the sounds
[1:32] sights
[1:34] people sound of the water the light
[1:46] just allow it to be as it is with that
[1:49] comes peace you don't get continuously
[1:53] drawn into events and thoughts and
[1:56] emotions and reactions your the wider
[2:00] space in which all these things happen
[2:03] your the awareness behind it without
[2:05] which none of this would be here to just
[2:08] be atoms and molecules in space you are
[2:12] the awareness that enables this entire
[2:14] world to be and so knowing that is who
[2:23] you truly are not through a concept but
[2:26] through the actual realization of
[2:28] stepping back and allowing the world
[2:32] phenomenal world to be as it is at this
[2:36] moment allowing this moment to be as it
[2:40] is that takes you deeper into yourself
[2:43] and you may notice there's a certain
[2:48] peace in the background what happens
[2:56] and alertness is required for this you
[2:59] need to stay alert to what is to sense
[3:01] perceptions and the energy behind sense
[3:05] perception searches the consciousness
[3:08] the alertness without the alertness you
[3:12] will drift off into thinking and then
[3:15] you think about them next what's going
[3:16] to happen to me tomorrow there is a
[3:19] place for making plans but not writing
[3:21] on the park bench this isn't the place
[3:23] for thinking about tomorrow because you
[3:25] miss all this beauty and aliveness
[3:26] around you in your cold think about it
[3:33] as a cold no it just is the sensation of
[3:36] it don't even need to call it cold and
[3:40] then that's okay too
[3:42] it's okay it's not the reactivity goes
[3:46] out of life against always against
[3:49] something wanting to clutch at something
[3:55] what about the search for meaning now
[3:59] you notice that just a moment ago you
[4:01] were in that state of alert presence and
[4:05] it never takes long for another thought
[4:08] to come in and ask a question because
[4:12] thought cannot tolerate the state of
[4:16] presence so it will always come in and
[4:19] say yeah but what about I don't quite
[4:21] understand yet can you tell me what does
[4:24] it all mean so it wants to add something
[4:28] it wants to control in some way by
[4:31] understanding what this all means now if
[4:37] you can let go it just for a moment not
[4:39] for the rest of your life just for this
[4:41] moment let go of the need to understand
[4:44] anything so that you're truly present in
[4:47] this moment so you don't need to do it
[4:51] for the next hour or the next ten
[4:53] minutes just right now
[4:55] just what is but don't forget yourself
[4:59] because you are the consciousness behind
[5:01] it you are the space
[5:07] the presence
[5:08] [Music]
[5:28] can you feel that your body is alive
[5:30] yeah so stay with that feeling and then
[5:34] proceed it's easier to perceive without
[5:38] interpretation when you can feel that
[5:41] your body is alive you feel the inner
[5:43] life that's throughout your body so some
[5:45] attention some of your attentions there
[5:47] the rest is on the outside world that
[5:55] roads you in the present moment it
[5:58] anchors here
[6:06] and if a thought comes into your mind we
[6:10] can watch that also just the same way as
[6:12] you watch a dog walking past you can
[6:15] watch a thought the rising in your mind
[6:18] and you don't have to follow it - it
[6:20] wants to go so you simply watch the
[6:22] thought that arises in your mind and let
[6:24] it go in the same way that the dark
[6:27] walks past you or if you choose to you
[6:30] can follow the thought and then you can
[6:32] say I just thought of another question I
[6:34] can't do that - but you see the
[6:38] possibility that also in the same way
[6:41] that you observe the outer world
[6:45] yes you sit on the bench you can also
[6:48] observe the inner world the world of
[6:51] thoughts and emotions thoughts want to
[6:54] rise continuously and that's fine that's
[6:56] what they do but there's no need to get
[7:00] drawn into each thought that arises and
[7:03] immediately go with it - it wants to go
[7:06] otherwise you're just you're always
[7:07] following every thought like like a dog
[7:12] following the scent doesn't matter which
[7:15] no it doesn't matter you can experiment
[7:18] you can experiment with thought you can
[7:20] follow some thoughts and you can watch
[7:23] other thoughts you find out for yourself
[7:26] you can play you can see that you are
[7:29] bigger than your thoughts you don't have
[7:32] to be dominated by your thoughts because
[7:35] thoughts create a lot of problems
[7:38] problems - unnecessary problems and they
[7:42] can obscure the aliveness of life at
[7:46] this moment
[7:48] there are many people walking around
[7:50] here who are thinking about other things
[7:52] so they're thinking about the next door
[7:53] they're thinking about tomorrow but this
[7:56] is not the place for that there is a
[7:58] place for planning and thinking about
[7:59] tomorrow but why spoil the beauty of
[8:01] this of the aliveness of this we're
[8:05] thinking about the next moment is that
[8:07] going to be better than this one what
[8:10] this is it work it's not going to get
[8:12] that much better this is what could
[8:16] could be more beautiful illness
[8:19] [Laughter]
[8:51] it's the awakening of something within
[8:53] you that is deeper than thought that's
[8:58] really the main thing and that's already
[9:01] there you just didn't know it why didn't
[9:05] they know this it's a deep-seated habit
[9:09] being totally identified with thinking
[9:12] it's a human condition which could be
[9:16] described as lost in thought because up
[9:20] to now evolution has been unconscious it
[9:22] was automatic
[9:23] but now evolution is consciously chosen
[9:26] by a species and that's a revolutionary
[9:28] thing and you are part of that
[9:41] which I can still make movies and still
[9:43] have a girl yes even fun yes you didn't
[9:46] - yeah it's a beautiful it's a
[9:48] playground you play around with the
[9:51] world you can you take action you relate
[9:55] but you're not lost in it most humans
[9:59] are lost in it what about pain I mean
[10:06] physical pain or emotional pain of
[10:08] losing someone
[10:10] most of the young pain is
[10:11] psychologically created there's an
[10:13] enormous amount of psychological pain
[10:15] suffering I call that when suffering
[10:17] goes and there's a possibility for
[10:19] humans now to live without suffering
[10:22] that is the possibility there may still
[10:25] be some physical pain it may be that you
[10:27] get two things or bodily pains from time
[10:30] to time
[10:31] suffering is another level that lies on
[10:33] top of the pain suffering implies a
[10:36] story a little me that is unhappy the
[10:40] mentally constructed entity a little me
[10:46] that has an unhappy story that is its
[10:49] identity and that creates an enormous
[10:53] amount of suffering not only do you make
[10:56] yourself suffer you make people around
[10:59] you suffer to be at one with life is to
[11:03] be at one with the present moment
[11:05] because it's the only place where life
[11:07] can be found you cannot leave the space
[11:12] of now that stays with you whatever
[11:14] you're doing where we go your life has
[11:16] never been not now and will never be not
[11:20] now are you making the present moment
[11:23] into an enemy some way internally
[11:27] through thinking about some something
[11:30] which is nothing nothing no I need to
[11:32] figure something out
[11:33] well first of all be here fully and then
[11:37] whatever is needed in your life
[11:39] comes it comes out of the power that
[11:43] dwells in the present moment that most
[11:46] people overlook there's an enormous
[11:48] power here which is the power of life
[11:52] itself and most people look for
[11:55] something and ignore this and the power
[12:00] of life itself is inseparable from who
[12:04] you are in the depth of your being many
[12:07] times you will forget but the moment you
[12:11] realize that you forgot there's the
[12:14] possibility of saying oh yes I lost the
[12:17] present moment there's the possibility
[12:19] of choosing to re-enter the present
[12:22] moment the first thing that happens when
[12:24] you re-enter the present all you become
[12:26] more aware of sense perceptions you
[12:27] suddenly there's greater alertness and
[12:30] then you become more aware of the
[12:32] aliveness in your body you feel the life
[12:35] within are it's like the entire
[12:39] vibrational frequency of your body
[12:41] shifts when you become present it's a
[12:45] different state of consciousness more
[12:48] alert more life
[12:51] and many times you will lose it and then
[12:54] you'll remember that's good enough now
[13:00] they don't believe the mind when it
[13:02] tells you oh you can't do it now you've
[13:04] put too much on your mind you can't be
[13:05] bothered with the present moment yeah
[13:07] those are just thoughts there's no need
[13:10] for you to follow those thoughts just to
[13:13] watch them they're thoughts that the
[13:14] mind throws up you don't need to believe
[13:16] in them because they're not true when
[13:19] the mind tells you you can't be present
[13:20] now because you've got too much on your
[13:22] mind then okay let's you can say okay
[13:24] let's see if that's true when you feel
[13:27] it's an aliveness in my hand
[13:29] there's no lifeless in my body there's
[13:33] beauty all around and you become frozen
[13:37] to gain alertness the alertness returns
[13:39] and when when there is time to think
[13:42] than you think then you say don't say
[13:44] okay let's think what plane am I going
[13:48] to catch tomorrow or time to have to go
[13:50] to the airport what you have to do now
[13:51] pick up the phone make a phone call fine
[13:54] it's beautiful you're not losing
[13:56] yourself in future it's practical
[13:58] matters and once you've done the
[14:00] practical matters you've thought about
[14:02] you've planned for next week then you
[14:06] come back to the now
[14:10] the inner transformation is not really
[14:12] about finding lots of answers to your
[14:15] questions but finding a new relationship
[14:20] to thought where not every thoughts or
[14:24] seduces you anymore
[14:27] and if a beautiful girl runs past and
[14:31] you find yourself following her
[14:33] you don't have to think oh I shouldn't
[14:35] be watching this girl because I'm
[14:37] spiritual now if you can let go it just
[14:43] for a moment not for the rest of your
[14:44] life just for this moment let go of the
[14:48] need to understand anything so that
[14:50] you're truly present in this moment it's
[14:53] just right now just what is don't forget
[14:59] yourself because you are the
[15:00] consciousness behind it you have a space
[15:07] the presence
[15:12] [Music]
[15:49] life wants to support you but first you
[15:52] need to be open to life so you've
[15:56] probably come here with lots of
[15:57] questions but let's start off with me
[16:01] asking you just one question and then
[16:02] you can ask yours okay may I ask how old
[16:07] you are
[16:08] yes joy fork not that it matters just so
[16:14] 24 means you've already had quite a few
[16:16] life experiences you've been to school
[16:19] and you've fallen in love and fallen out
[16:24] of love I think so and have had all
[16:27] kinds of experiences perhaps in
[16:33] different places meeting different
[16:35] people different circumstances the body
[16:40] probably has been well most of the time
[16:43] that you've also experienced maybe one
[16:45] or two illnesses now is there in all
[16:49] those things that you have experienced
[16:53] so far which is consumed continuously
[16:58] changing flux of things
[17:00] is there any ingredients in there that
[17:04] was always not the same that didn't
[17:07] change just like you two asks you to see
[17:10] if you can find any ingredient in all
[17:13] the things that you have experienced so
[17:15] far that's always been the same because
[17:19] it let's we could start perhaps by us
[17:22] asking could it be the things around you
[17:29] obviously not because the things around
[17:31] you change continuously could it be your
[17:36] thoughts
[17:38] no because the thoughts that go through
[17:41] your mind also change continuously could
[17:46] it be your feelings or your emotions no
[17:51] your process you know they also change
[17:54] all the time
[17:58] so what is it if anything that hasn't
[18:03] changed
[18:03] it doesn't change is there one
[18:06] ingredient in all your experiences good
[18:10] or bad up or down it's always been there
[18:18] I think I've been in in here I've been
[18:22] inside
[18:23] now when you say I what does that mean
[18:27] what what incident
[18:28] I know because we've already seen it
[18:31] can't be your thoughts because they
[18:33] change all the time your feelings or
[18:36] emotions they change all the time your
[18:38] sense experiences things that you
[18:40] perceive around you change all the time
[18:43] so wherever we look this changed so when
[18:46] you say I can point to the eye as that
[18:49] which doesn't change it cannot be what
[18:52] happens to you it cannot be the thoughts
[18:56] that go through your mind it cannot be
[18:59] the emotions the feelings that you
[19:02] experience so what is the nature of that
[19:05] eye what does that word mean or point to
[19:10] so listening
[19:12] that's what hears what's behind what's
[19:20] behind the thoughts what's behind the
[19:24] sense perceptions what's behind all the
[19:28] experiences and the feelings and so on
[19:30] so the question that I'm asking does not
[19:36] really require an abstract answer but I
[19:41] want you to actually feel or sense
[19:45] inside yourself that which doesn't
[19:49] change no matter where you go no matter
[19:53] what you do or who you're with or
[19:57] whether the body is well or unwell when
[20:02] I asked you said it's I and I've asked
[20:06] what's the nature of that I
[20:09] and now you may be stuck for words but
[20:14] you said one word and that was listening
[20:20] now in when you're truly listening there
[20:26] is a certain alert spaciousness
[20:32] otherwise you're not truly listening and
[20:35] so if that had to be expressed through a
[20:40] gesture it could be you could raise a
[20:42] finger gently and say listen so I see I
[20:49] say to you listen and you listen there's
[20:55] a moment of splashes awareness and
[20:58] there's no salt in it so when you said
[21:04] listening you are actually getting very
[21:06] close to the nature of who you truly are
[21:13] underneath all the circumstances of your
[21:18] life and circumstances includes thoughts
[21:21] and emotions if you don't find that who
[21:26] or what you are underneath all the
[21:28] circumstances no matter how many
[21:30] questions you ask and how many good
[21:32] answers you get won't help you very much
[21:35] and there will be no end to the
[21:37] questioning because every answer
[21:39] generates further questions so we're
[21:44] talking about becoming familiar with a
[21:51] different state of consciousness not
[21:53] that that has never been there it's
[21:56] always been there because it's the I but
[21:59] it's always been overlooked because the
[22:03] circumstances things that happen to you
[22:05] and your thinking and your emotions have
[22:08] such overwhelming pulling force that
[22:12] they always pull your attention in
[22:15] completely and so attention is that
[22:19] which is there when you're truly
[22:20] listening
[22:22] and in the moment of attention there's
[22:26] no thinking
[22:27] but there is an aware presence so the
[22:33] answer that you gave is absolutely right
[22:36] not everybody would have put it this way
[22:38] but listening points to who you truly
[22:42] are underneath all the things that
[22:47] continuously change now I'd like you to
[22:51] as we speak this is not an intellectual
[22:54] discussion because if this were
[22:56] intellectual you should have gone to a
[22:58] professor of philosophy or some
[23:01] intellectual at a university right and
[23:05] ultimately you get many answers but all
[23:10] those answers will all you always make
[23:14] you end up with more questions because
[23:18] they don't get you to the core of who
[23:22] you are so let's start off with that and
[23:29] what we are pointing to is a sense of
[23:34] eye of beingness that is deeper than
[23:38] anything that happens in your life it's
[23:41] always there has always been there right
[23:43] now and that is closely related to the
[23:48] state of attentive listening to get in
[23:51] touch with that to sense it underneath
[23:55] it all there is a timeless presence even
[24:00] in 50 years time in 60 years time when
[24:04] this body is getting old and this body
[24:08] the cells it won't be the same body the
[24:10] cells of the body will have been renewed
[24:12] many times there's not a there won't be
[24:15] a single cell materially there won't be
[24:18] a single thing that's left in 50 years
[24:20] even though you may still be alive there
[24:22] won't be a single thing that's left
[24:24] materi that's here now every cell will
[24:27] have been renewed and so the body will
[24:31] have grown older and yet something time
[24:36] deep within will still be exactly the
[24:40] same as it is now untouched going time
[24:44] hi I before it becomes this or that
[24:52] because the moment you say I am American
[24:55] I am this or that I am a professional or
[25:00] I am a jobless person or I am a
[25:04] millionaire or I'm a homeless person
[25:08] there's all form identifications with
[25:12] changing circumstances and so people
[25:15] look for something there to provide
[25:19] permanency in their lives they want to
[25:22] identify with something that they
[25:24] finally contain there that's it I found
[25:27] it what they really want to say is I
[25:30] found myself finally so they look for
[25:32] themselves through external possessions
[25:36] through acquired knowledge through an
[25:39] accumulation of experiences or sexual
[25:43] encounters some people derive their
[25:45] sense of self from that the more women
[25:46] you can conquer or seduce or have sex
[25:49] with the more you think I'm I'm getting
[25:52] somewhere of course after a few years
[25:53] you realized it's not getting you
[25:56] anywhere not if you are nothing will get
[25:59] you anywhere which is means to yourself
[26:02] if you're looking for yourself in any
[26:04] experience and that's the fallacy of
[26:09] most people they look for themselves in
[26:11] changing circumstances they look for
[26:14] themselves in their thought processes
[26:16] they identified with their thoughts and
[26:18] opinions and their judgments and this in
[26:20] that and it changes your opinions may
[26:24] change you may be a Democrat now and in
[26:28] 15 years time when you have become a
[26:30] solid citizen you may be required to
[26:33] come a Republican you have totally
[26:34] completely different set of opinions
[26:36] it's just different set of opinions in
[26:39] the new field the thoughts have changed
[26:42] the
[26:43] the underlying AI hasn't changed so can
[26:48] you go through life being in touch with
[26:52] that being in touch with that in
[26:56] different situations different
[27:00] circumstances different places so that
[27:03] you're not completely lost in the things
[27:08] I sometimes call it to the thinness of
[27:11] life one thing after another there's
[27:15] nothing wrong with that but if you
[27:18] haven't found yourself yet you have
[27:21] don't know what that is
[27:22] then you're looking for the eye in
[27:24] things and things include your thinking
[27:28] because every thought is also a
[27:30] formation it's a it has a certain form a
[27:33] thought form it comes and then it goes
[27:35] every emotion it comes it's an energy
[27:38] field inside you it comes as a certain
[27:41] lifespan and then it subsides and then
[27:43] another one comes that's all the
[27:46] thickness of life it's forms that come
[27:48] and go all the time the only thing that
[27:52] doesn't come and go is I that which
[27:57] underlies all that and that's not an
[27:59] intellectual thing that I'm trying to
[28:01] convince you off because they would not
[28:03] be helpful the question is this moment
[28:08] can I sense the presence that I am that
[28:14] is prior to anything that happens to me
[28:19] or has ever happened or can ever happen
[28:22] in a sense that right now yes you can
[28:28] because if you couldn't you wouldn't
[28:30] have said listening because listening
[28:33] you already knew it came from that
[28:34] deeper place of alert attention that in
[28:39] itself has no content the content comes
[28:41] when things happen but in itself the I
[28:45] that you are one could describe it as
[28:48] space it's not lifeless it's full of
[28:52] life all of life comes out of that
[28:55] but in itself it it is spacious Buddha
[29:01] called it emptiness and it's completely
[29:06] misunderstood by people because the
[29:08] university professors look at the word
[29:10] emptiness and then say the Buddha was
[29:12] Buddhist teachings us life denying the
[29:18] total opposite is true because Jesus
[29:20] called the same space the fullness of
[29:22] life because at the same time it is life
[29:26] in its fullness to be able to sense that
[29:29] at first it's very subtle in the
[29:33] background but as you become familiar
[29:35] with it I mentioned it's always there
[29:39] somewhere no matter what you do even
[29:42] when you meet a beautiful girl
[29:43] and you're talking to her and you can
[29:47] from from there you can you can listen
[29:50] to yourself talking and it's fine you're
[29:53] not totally lost in your experiences
[29:56] it's always and a sense of aliveness and
[30:01] peace in the background and that
[30:04] influences how you live your life
[30:06] let's sense the I the timeless I because
[30:11] on the surface you have the the
[30:14] time-bound I that that grows all right
[30:16] it's identified with thinking and
[30:18] emotions and things happen to it and so
[30:21] on but underneath it is the timeless I
[30:25] know the word I is probably the most
[30:28] frequently used word in the language
[30:30] whenever you listen to people to say how
[30:32] what's the most the words they use most
[30:35] frequently when you listen to a
[30:36] conversation probably you'll find it's
[30:38] the word I know what they refer to is
[30:43] not the timeless because they haven't
[30:45] found that they refer to a superficial
[30:47] sense of I identification with things
[30:50] thinking with emotions I am angry
[30:53] I am American I am this I am that
[30:59] identification with something
[31:04] so that I is the greatest illusion
[31:06] because there's no substance there
[31:09] nothing permanent so if I'm not
[31:11] something a mind nothing yes I would
[31:16] pronounce that differently though I
[31:18] would say you are no thing no there's a
[31:24] difference between no thing and nothing
[31:30] nothing is simply a denial but no thing
[31:35] means there is a presence there but it
[31:39] has no form nothing that you can grasp
[31:43] it has no shape and no form and no name
[31:48] the ancient Chinese call it the Dow
[31:52] which cannot be named there's a
[31:55] beautiful it's 3,000 years old Chinese
[31:59] book of wisdom the daodejing I recommend
[32:04] it to everybody and the first line in it
[32:08] is the Dow that can be named or spoken
[32:11] of is not the true down and so that
[32:17] there is the presence that you sense a
[32:22] presence that has no form in ancient
[32:26] language Christian Hebrew there's the
[32:35] word spirit but I don't use that word
[32:39] because it's been used for hundreds of
[32:41] years and misunderstood so if I used
[32:44] spirit people would immediately have
[32:46] some image of what it is some form or
[32:49] call it the Holy Spirit and this
[32:50] hundreds of years of misconceptions of
[32:53] what the spirit is so we forget about
[32:54] the word spirit but in its original true
[32:58] meaning
[32:59] that's what spirit points to the essence
[33:03] of who you are is formless now we could
[33:06] use the word consciousness as the
[33:08] essence of who you are and you can sense
[33:10] it but you can never grasp it and you
[33:14] cannot really know it
[33:17] you can only know something that is not
[33:22] you and object anything that becomes an
[33:25] object of consciousness I look at this
[33:27] plant and I know it by looking at it and
[33:31] by having a thought for a name for it I
[33:33] say I know this plant this plant is an
[33:36] object that arises in consciousness and
[33:40] I look at you I see a shape and a form
[33:45] and obviously what I see nobody knows
[33:50] whether what you see out there is
[33:53] actually there because the image that
[33:56] you have in your mind of your
[33:59] surrounding environment is there's an
[34:03] optical the eye are like a camera lens
[34:06] they send a picture to them into the
[34:11] brain at which the the pictures
[34:13] translate into nerve impulses and
[34:16] chemicals that reach the brain and the
[34:18] brain decodes what I see and then
[34:20] reassembles a picture and then suddenly
[34:23] I see you nobody knows what's actually
[34:26] out there but let's just leave it here
[34:30] we have looking at you this is an object
[34:39] that arises in consciousness in the
[34:45] space that I am then I look away and
[34:48] another object arises in the space that
[34:52] I am or I listen to something that
[34:56] arises in the space that I am a thought
[34:58] comes that arises in this place that I
[35:00] am the presence that I am but the
[35:04] presence itself
[35:05] you can't know it in the way that you
[35:07] know a plant or you know a person or you
[35:10] know a sound or you know a thought
[35:11] because it has to it would have to
[35:14] reflect back on itself you cannot make
[35:17] it into an object so you cannot make
[35:19] yourself into an object of knowledge you
[35:22] can only be that presence but you can't
[35:25] know it because you would externalize it
[35:29] and this is the mistake that humans have
[35:31] made over thousands of years they made
[35:35] themselves into an object and there's a
[35:40] talk about me and my story I'm sure you
[35:43] have one your story of me and so when
[35:47] you make yourself into an object you
[35:51] live with yourself
[35:52] some people love themselves one day and
[35:54] they hate themselves the next day and
[35:57] then following day they're not quite
[35:59] sure and then you have some other and
[36:03] then you have feeling guilty people have
[36:05] relationships with an image that they
[36:07] have in their minds of themselves me
[36:09] people talk to themselves in their mind
[36:12] well that wasn't very good you didn't do
[36:15] a good thing shouldn't have done that
[36:16] who is talking to whom there's a voice
[36:18] in the head that talks to yourself the
[36:21] mind has split itself in two and is
[36:23] talking to itself and out of that
[36:26] continuous talking comes the story of me
[36:30] and identification with that and the
[36:35] questions that you are going to ask
[36:38] probably have a lot to do with the story
[36:42] of me to find out more about it about my
[36:50] life because after all that's what
[36:54] everybody is most interested in you are
[36:57] here because you are the main character
[37:00] in the story of yourself and the main
[37:04] character in that story has quite a few
[37:07] things that it feels he feels puzzled
[37:10] about and doesn't understand and wants
[37:14] questions and the story in some ways
[37:15] it's worked and in other ways it hasn't
[37:17] worked and so the character in the story
[37:21] has come here and wants to know how to
[37:25] make the story work better isn't that so
[37:30] yes now whatever answers anybody can
[37:35] give you of how to make the story work
[37:37] better there are things you can make the
[37:39] story work better but all that doesn't
[37:42] really help
[37:42] understand get to the bottom behind the
[37:46] story the eye behind the story then if
[37:50] you've are in touch with that throughout
[37:52] your life the story will unfold with
[37:56] much greater ease because there is a
[37:58] deeper dimension that is there but if
[38:00] there's only the story nothing will ever
[38:02] satisfy the main character in that story
[38:06] you if the main character in that story
[38:10] you has never known the deeper I the
[38:17] timeless presence that is the
[38:20] consciousness that you are the attentive
[38:26] spacious
[39:22] can you feel that your body is alive
[39:27] mm-hmm because when you feel the
[39:31] aliveness inside your body I call it
[39:35] inner body the usually hyperactive mind
[39:42] slows down now the hyperactive mind is
[39:48] extremely repetitive you might have
[39:51] noticed that 90 probably 99% of your
[39:57] thoughts you've had them before they are
[40:00] repetitive so new thoughts are
[40:02] relatively rare when there's only the
[40:06] hyperactive mind it's just the old same
[40:08] old things going through your mind again
[40:10] it again the moment you feel the inner
[40:13] body in order to be able to feel the
[40:17] aliveness here some of your attention
[40:19] has to go from the head within into the
[40:24] body so you're removing some attention
[40:27] away from thinking it doesn't
[40:29] necessarily mean that thinking stops
[40:31] totally but it subsides slows down there
[40:36] may even be little spaces in between one
[40:40] thought and the next thought so thinking
[40:45] slows down because part of your
[40:47] attention is in the inner energy field
[40:50] aliveness that most people never feel
[40:53] because they're so absorbed in their
[40:57] thoughts they can't they don't even feel
[40:59] that they are alive anymore so thinking
[41:02] subsides and then or even little spaces
[41:05] in between thoughts and then it's much
[41:08] more likely that thoughts that come then
[41:11] a new thoughts sometimes they are
[41:15] insights there are new ways of looking
[41:17] at things
[41:19] sudden realizations they can only come
[41:23] if you are able to
[41:28] calm the mind but not as something that
[41:32] you feel I need to calm my mind but
[41:34] simply by diverting attention away from
[41:36] it not by making some effort to calm
[41:41] your mind all you do is do you take
[41:44] attention away from it and so then there
[41:46] is more spaciousness not just one sought
[41:50] after another and then your thinking
[41:51] actually improves which means it's more
[41:55] life more original you have it's more
[41:59] powerful you have better ideas and the
[42:03] way in which you interact with people
[42:05] has more is more real because the real
[42:10] comes not from the accumulated stuff in
[42:13] your minds that's all the roles that you
[42:16] play not just you everybody
[42:18] everybody plays their roles them have
[42:21] been conditioned to play certain roles
[42:23] you have an image of who you are when
[42:25] you meet a beautiful woman you play a
[42:28] certain role you want to have the best
[42:30] possible image you present and present
[42:32] the best possible image and she does the
[42:34] same you can observe it when two young
[42:37] people are attracted to each other they
[42:39] meet the first few days and weeks there
[42:43] they look different from the way they
[42:45] usually look because they present an
[42:47] image that wants to attract the other in
[42:53] it's unconscious it's a role that they
[42:55] play it's only after the honeymoon when
[42:58] everyday life begins that gradually the
[43:02] image and you believe that that image
[43:05] that you see in her is who she is
[43:07] and she believes it you don't know that
[43:09] you're both playing roles and but you
[43:11] cannot keep up the roles indefinitely so
[43:13] after the honeymoon
[43:14] gradually they wear down the roles and
[43:17] then there comes becomes some discontent
[43:23] arises and suddenly the mask slips the
[43:27] role is new you can't play a role
[43:29] continuously the role of me the
[43:34] attractive month
[43:36] so that's to get out of the role-playing
[43:40] that otherwise you're stuck with for the
[43:42] rest of your life you have a certain
[43:43] role for your partner for a while
[43:45] you have another role for your work
[43:48] situation you have another role from
[43:50] wherever you go you slip into this
[43:52] little differences in the way in which
[43:54] you behave when you talk to the chairman
[43:57] of the board or the Dalai Lama you will
[44:01] you will behave in a certain way and
[44:03] then you might notice when you talk to
[44:05] the plumber
[44:06] there will be subtle differences in the
[44:07] way in which you talk you play a
[44:09] different role you think of what this is
[44:11] not appropriate here right it's only
[44:14] when you stop playing roles when you
[44:15] observe the Dalai Lama how he behaves no
[44:19] you might have thought well the Dalai
[44:21] Lama probably plays the role of the
[44:22] Dalai Lama but he doesn't there's such
[44:25] simplicity openness and genuineness in
[44:28] him he talks the same way to everybody
[44:30] whether he meets the plumber the Pope
[44:33] makes no difference because he doesn't
[44:36] play conditioned roles anymore and that
[44:40] is only possible when you access that I
[44:44] mentioned within yourself that is deeper
[44:46] than the mind and we just did it or we
[44:50] are still doing it simply by taking
[44:53] attention away from thought and direct
[44:57] it into the aliveness of the body
[44:59] it means suddenly there's some space
[45:02] between thoughts and then you can relate
[45:06] to other human beings more genuinely and
[45:12] you don't need to prepare things that
[45:14] you're going to say next you don't say
[45:16] things in order to manipulate that
[45:19] person you don't say things in order to
[45:22] create an effect they simply spontaneity
[45:24] comes out of that place the spontaneity
[45:27] doesn't come out of the accumulated
[45:30] stuff in your mind the spontaneity comes
[45:33] only to the extent that you can access
[45:37] that I mention that is deeper than mind
[45:40] which we may call the deeper eye which
[45:44] we may call
[45:48] stillness that is always there
[45:53] alert spaciousness access that so mind
[45:59] subsides then you live differently the
[46:04] more you access not at the moment these
[46:05] are only glimpses for you but that's
[46:08] good enough a glimpse later becomes a
[46:11] why displace that so that is something
[46:15] to remember not as a memory but to
[46:18] remember to do in your daily life as
[46:21] much as possible wherever you are
[46:24] whatever you're doing whether you were
[46:27] talking to or even when you're alone go
[46:31] within sometimes and feel that the body
[46:34] is alive this life in my hands
[46:36] you don't not imagining anything you
[46:38] actually feel that there is an aliveness
[46:42] here and then once you can feel the
[46:46] hands you can feel the arms the feet the
[46:48] legs you are inhabiting the body and the
[46:55] the body loves that it loves your
[46:57] attention if most people don't give
[47:01] their body attention even if they look
[47:02] after the body extreme like you go to a
[47:05] dream everyday or you use all kinds of
[47:09] stuff to put on your body you might
[47:12] think that these people are looking
[47:14] after their body or or they're looking
[47:15] after it's the the external of the body
[47:20] they are not necessarily present within
[47:24] they cannot feel the aliveness some
[47:26] maybe they can but most not they're only
[47:29] concerned with the external body here we
[47:32] are concerned with the inner so it and
[47:34] it doesn't matter the inner body has
[47:38] nothing to do with the how what the
[47:39] external body looks like whether you're
[47:42] 18 years old or 20 years old whether you
[47:45] have a young body on old body the
[47:47] sensation of the inner body is always
[47:49] the same it's alive and the body loves
[47:54] your attention it's bit like when you
[48:00] don't give enough attention to its
[48:02] laughter while the child cries because
[48:05] it wants to attract your attention the
[48:07] baby does it and then fun you give
[48:10] because attention is in its energy its
[48:12] enormous energy the most attention
[48:15] attention is consciousness most
[48:18] attention for most people is
[48:20] continuously absorbed by thinking you
[48:26] can see it when you talk to them they're
[48:27] not they're really they're thinking
[48:29] they're looking at you but they're
[48:30] thinking about the next thought they're
[48:32] going to ask as you sit there maybe
[48:36] you're thinking about okay after what's
[48:38] my next question and that's normal it's
[48:42] not a personal fault of yours it's
[48:44] normal to lose yourself and then you
[48:46] know that means you're not really
[48:48] present when you're thinking about the
[48:51] next thing so it's normal so you don't
[48:55] have to beat yourself up for that it's
[48:57] normal but there is another way to live
[49:00] and that's the way of to be present to
[49:04] give attention not just to your thoughts
[49:07] to give attention to your body if you
[49:10] don't give enough attention to a child
[49:11] of course a child can also become
[49:13] addicted to attention well that's a
[49:14] different matter there needs to be a
[49:16] balance but the child does need
[49:18] attention from it's vital not an
[49:21] excessive amount but enough because
[49:24] attention is energy and the body loves
[49:27] it as much as a child it wants to be
[49:29] noticed it wants your attention and if
[49:32] it doesn't it cries it might become ill
[49:34] that's a crying of the body you're
[49:38] neglecting it the infant you're not
[49:41] you're not you're not inhabiting it
[49:45] you're inhabited the uppermost loft in
[49:49] your house you're in a big house and you
[49:52] live always in the under the roof you
[49:56] never go downstairs there are lots of
[49:58] laws you have no idea what's going on
[50:00] there so that's the vital thing and it
[50:06] is a way of also accessing the space
[50:11] within that is the the eye that has no
[50:14] form that
[50:15] is the consciousness that is also
[50:18] intelligence we thinking of intelligence
[50:21] as the minds ability to accumulate
[50:25] knowledge and to solve problems
[50:28] let's probably what we consider in to be
[50:32] intelligence but that's an extremely
[50:34] narrow view of what intelligence is what
[50:36] people can measure in IQ tests is an
[50:40] extremely narrow view of intelligence I
[50:45] cannot solve the most the simplest of IQ
[50:48] tests so I've never done a total test
[50:51] but I'm sure my IQ would be extremely
[50:53] low because that is not how this mind
[50:56] works solving little puzzles I've never
[50:58] been able to do that but intelligent is
[51:02] a much vaster thing than the ability to
[51:05] accumulate information and so and then
[51:08] regurgitate it or analyze it or cut it
[51:12] into smaller and smaller pieces what
[51:14] they do at universities research
[51:16] projects the pieces are getting smaller
[51:19] and smaller and smaller the PhD subjects
[51:22] are getting more and more and more
[51:24] specialized because yet so many people
[51:27] are working on things and then you have
[51:29] to watch your tiny piece that ok I take
[51:32] this piece in Wow my PhD about that dick
[51:34] cut can cut that up a hundred times and
[51:36] then once you've written your PhD
[51:38] somebody else comes and takes a tiny
[51:40] piece out of registers
[51:41] I can cut this up even further and let's
[51:44] consider intelligence but through
[51:47] intelligence the joint tangents resides
[51:50] in that dimension of alert stillness if
[51:56] you have access to that that's where the
[51:59] original intelligence resides so anybody
[52:02] who is creative they're not that many
[52:05] human beings in this world who are truly
[52:07] creative anybody's Grady has some access
[52:12] perhaps only in the little area of their
[52:14] field of expertise whether they have
[52:18] some access to that I mentioned this is
[52:20] the stillness Einstein had it he was
[52:25] very slow he was not considered
[52:27] intelligent at school
[52:29] because he was too slow they said not
[52:33] suitable to for mathematics they said
[52:36] odd in physics because he his thinking
[52:40] was very slow now what does it mean it
[52:43] means there were lots of spaces in
[52:45] between the thoughts he didn't he wasn't
[52:48] at school like one of the these
[52:50] so-called intelligent servant always
[52:52] when the teacher asked the question
[52:53] they've the hand goes up immediately I
[52:55] know I know it's very superficial
[52:58] occasionally it may be okay but there
[53:01] are some children and it is not
[53:02] recognized by our society who are very
[53:06] deeply intelligent but not in the way
[53:09] that we consider what we consider
[53:12] intelligence and they tend to be slower
[53:15] they don't immediately have an answer
[53:17] because they know it's superficial to
[53:19] have a true answer you have to go deeper
[53:21] within but if you allow those children
[53:24] to go deeper then you would see how
[53:27] original their thinking actually is so
[53:31] when we just went into the you went into
[53:34] the body already you noticed some new
[53:38] thoughts came not the old thoughts it
[53:42] only requires a tiny space for something
[53:45] new to rise not that you're doing it in
[53:48] order to have new thoughts you're doing
[53:50] it because it feels good to feel the
[53:53] aliveness within you and the more
[53:59] familiar you become with that with
[54:01] inhabiting your body the more strongly
[54:05] you can feel that aliveness it's almost
[54:07] as if you could feel every cell of the
[54:09] body vibrating slightly so and it's a
[54:13] beautiful feeling just an aliveness
[54:16] there and that is an enormous ly healing
[54:20] thing to do for the body I'd really want
[54:24] to know about guilt I feel guilty oh you
[54:31] know all the time for little things I'm
[54:32] doing or that I'm not doing and there
[54:36] are things that I know I did that were
[54:38] mistakes to other people so
[54:41] I know that you're supposed to be free
[54:45] and liberated in the now but shouldn't I
[54:49] feel bad about this stuff I mean and
[54:51] what's gonna keep me if I'm free and
[54:53] liberated in the now from like doing bad
[54:56] things to people human beings act out of
[55:03] their conditioning so every human being
[55:10] is conditioned by their upbringing by
[55:12] the surrounding culture by manufactures
[55:17] conditioned to think and feel and behave
[55:21] in certain ways and so people do all
[55:30] kinds of things to other people and even
[55:32] to themselves without knowing what
[55:35] they're doing they're simply acting out
[55:37] the conditioning of their mind and jesus
[55:42] knew that because they he said on the
[55:43] cross forgive them for they know not
[55:46] what they do so humans create an
[55:50] enormous amount of suffering for
[55:52] themselves and others but they don't
[55:55] know that this is what they are doing
[55:57] people act out of conditioning so when
[56:02] you suddenly see it's something that you
[56:05] did in the past created suffering for
[56:10] yourself or others or both when you see
[56:16] that that's the seeing of it does not
[56:21] come out of the conditioning of your
[56:24] mind when you when you become aware of
[56:27] certain behavior or thought patterns in
[56:31] you the awareness the presence the
[56:35] deeper presence that you are has come in
[56:38] and from there you can see what you did
[56:41] was very limited
[56:43] it created suffering for yourself or
[56:45] somebody else or other people and you
[56:48] didn't even know it so what was acting
[56:52] at that time if you say that was me
[56:55] and therefore I must be bad you are
[57:00] equating the conditioned mind you're
[57:05] conditioned mind the conditioning of
[57:07] your mind with who you are if you say I
[57:12] did that
[57:13] therefore I'm bad or and continuously
[57:17] think about it you're equating who you
[57:21] are with what we could call
[57:24] unconsciousness unconsciousness means to
[57:27] be totally identified with the
[57:29] conditioning of the mind so you just
[57:31] have to act it out now there's still
[57:33] millions of humans on the planet who
[57:36] live in that way because the dimension
[57:38] of awareness hasn't arisen yet so they
[57:41] never know what they are doing they
[57:43] continue to inflict suffering on
[57:45] themselves and others to act
[57:47] unconsciously but they don't know that
[57:50] this is what they're doing they cannot
[57:51] do otherwise so the moment you realize
[57:55] this is what I did
[57:59] who you are is the awareness that sees
[58:02] that who you are is not what you did
[58:06] what you did was the conditioning of
[58:09] your mind playing itself out so you
[58:13] become you trap yourself in an illusory
[58:17] identity if you feel that I did that
[58:21] know who are who is speaking who is I
[58:26] are you the conditioned patterns of your
[58:28] mind or are you the awareness that sees
[58:32] it's the spaciousness within the deeper
[58:35] I let sees what the mind is doing it
[58:39] sees what the mind created in the past
[58:42] it even sees what the mind is creating
[58:45] at this very moment if you could be
[58:46] aware of the things these thoughts that
[58:48] go through your head how you speak to
[58:51] another human being you may be acting
[58:54] out a role and suddenly there's an
[58:56] awareness that you know that you are
[58:57] acting out and wrong and then it comes
[58:59] the possibility of instead of being the
[59:03] role being the awareness and then
[59:07] act in a truly genuine way with enhanced
[59:11] intelligence so the unconscious action
[59:15] was unintelligent action because it was
[59:17] action created by the conditioning of
[59:19] your mind which has nothing to do with
[59:23] who you are so there's a tendency for
[59:26] the mind to personalize the conditioning
[59:30] and say I did that
[59:32] and that creates guilt and that keeps
[59:36] you trapped in a very narrow sense of
[59:38] self because you have equated who you
[59:41] consider to be yourself with conditioned
[59:45] patterns that you act it out at the time
[59:47] it wasn't you it was unconscious human
[59:50] unconsciousness no more and now you see
[59:54] it so you see it and at this moment you
[59:59] would not act in this way because the
[1:00:01] awareness is there maybe the awareness
[1:00:04] will stay and this will never happen
[1:00:05] again
[1:00:06] it may also possible that the awareness
[1:00:09] becomes obscured again and the same
[1:00:12] behavior pattern happens again and you
[1:00:15] don't know it except afterwards when the
[1:00:18] awareness comes again oh I did it again
[1:00:20] and this is happy it can happen quite
[1:00:23] frequently so it's important it's good
[1:00:26] to be aware afterwards if you do not
[1:00:29] misuse the mind don't allow the mind to
[1:00:32] misuse the awareness and make some
[1:00:35] attaint identity manufacture some
[1:00:38] identity out of that for yourself and
[1:00:40] saying that was me it wasn't me
[1:00:42] that's the main thing who are you you
[1:00:47] are the awareness anything else's forms
[1:00:52] that arise sort forms emotional false
[1:00:54] behavior patterns so your destiny and
[1:00:59] your purpose in life is to increasingly
[1:01:02] be the awareness rather than the
[1:01:04] conditioned pattern but as long as the
[1:01:07] condition pattern is there it's there
[1:01:11] it's good if you if the moment the
[1:01:15] moment of transformation comes if the
[1:01:18] awareness is there while the pattern
[1:01:20] plays itself
[1:01:21] that's the beginning of the end of the
[1:01:24] condition pattern so if it's if it's a
[1:01:26] certain kind of behavior perhaps with
[1:01:28] women you do the centrally the same kind
[1:01:32] of thing and it happens again and again
[1:01:36] and the awareness comes afterwards and
[1:01:39] one day the awareness comes in the
[1:01:41] middle of doing it in the middle of it
[1:01:44] yo you see what you're doing there's a
[1:01:47] seeing of it and that's the beginning of
[1:01:50] the end of the pattern then it may just
[1:01:52] one or two more times the pattern may
[1:01:54] come up in a weaker form and it will
[1:01:57] then collapse so in other words you are
[1:01:59] making what was unconscious conscious
[1:02:03] and that changes it so you do not have
[1:02:06] to manipulate yourself and try to
[1:02:10] engineer inner change I have to make
[1:02:14] myself into a better person that doesn't
[1:02:16] usually work it just creates conflict
[1:02:20] because you have one image of yourself
[1:02:21] as the the the good person that you want
[1:02:25] to be or that you'd like to think of
[1:02:27] yourself as that or you'd like others to
[1:02:29] think of you as a good person and then
[1:02:32] you have unconscious behavior patterns
[1:02:34] and completely contradict that image of
[1:02:36] a good person and then for the rest of
[1:02:39] your life you live in that conflict you
[1:02:40] have and you the good person can talk to
[1:02:43] the bad one in your head it's just the
[1:02:46] two thought patterns so that doesn't
[1:02:48] work
[1:02:48] what works is to be the awareness to see
[1:02:54] it to be awake enough alert enough and
[1:02:56] that where the present moment comes in
[1:02:58] to see are you present in this moment to
[1:03:03] what happens in this moment not only
[1:03:04] externally but internally also and are
[1:03:09] you allowing it don't reject anything if
[1:03:12] you feel a thought comes in and emotion
[1:03:15] comes in and it maybe it's not a good
[1:03:17] thought maybe your mind says after the
[1:03:20] thought has come in your mind says oh
[1:03:22] that wasn't a good thought I shouldn't
[1:03:23] have thought that but they're both just
[1:03:26] thoughts the so-called bad thought was
[1:03:28] just a thought and the next thought they
[1:03:31] thought it wasn't a good thought with
[1:03:32] just another thought
[1:03:34] now it's possible that the bad thought
[1:03:38] made you do something bad it's possible
[1:03:42] but the good thought cannot prevent that
[1:03:48] the only thing that can prevent that is
[1:03:50] to be conscious so that the thought does
[1:03:54] not control you the conditioned mind
[1:03:56] doesn't control you be there ask the
[1:04:00] witness to your thoughts just don't
[1:04:04] reject anything so don't go wrong there
[1:04:06] I know you're concerned about your mind
[1:04:09] in certain thoughts it goes through your
[1:04:11] mind and you would rather be a good
[1:04:14] person and have good thoughts all the
[1:04:16] time but it's not happening and I can
[1:04:20] assure you it's not happening to anybody
[1:04:23] somebody is just having good thoughts
[1:04:25] because the human mind is the human mind
[1:04:28] it has polarities of good and bad in
[1:04:31] high and low so don't try to bring about
[1:04:35] on that level the perfect me it doesn't
[1:04:40] exist allow yourself the imperfections
[1:04:46] allow us the swords to be there they
[1:04:50] come if you fight them you make them
[1:04:52] stronger people have the worst problems
[1:04:54] with thoughts are people who are
[1:04:58] spiritual so to speak they see
[1:05:01] themselves or a seen by others as
[1:05:03] spiritual they have to live the role for
[1:05:05] example the vicar the priest they have
[1:05:09] to live the role of a spiritual person
[1:05:11] and they cannot admit to themselves that
[1:05:14] they have bad thoughts
[1:05:16] so they suppress and they FA may have
[1:05:19] bad emotions anger resentment and they
[1:05:24] and they say no I'm not having bad
[1:05:26] emotions I'm a good Christian
[1:05:28] they can't even admit to themselves and
[1:05:31] that makes it even worse
[1:05:32] and then suddenly very bad behavior
[1:05:35] comes out of them and they don't know
[1:05:36] where it came from
[1:05:37] so on all you have to be thought all you
[1:05:42] need to be concerned about is to be the
[1:05:45] awareness allow the thought
[1:05:48] then they actually have less power over
[1:05:51] you because you are not don't look for
[1:05:54] yourself in any thought that comes into
[1:05:56] your head it's not who you are they're
[1:05:58] just thoughts
[1:05:59] it's not who you are if you have bad
[1:06:02] thoughts for two hours doesn't make you
[1:06:04] into a bad person it just means that
[1:06:07] so-called bad thoughts are going through
[1:06:09] your head and then you watch it and as
[1:06:13] you allow them there's a deeper space
[1:06:16] the eye from there you watch thoughts
[1:06:19] are like clouds passing you don't have
[1:06:23] to follow every thought and then
[1:06:25] thoughts can become very tedious make
[1:06:28] you think you can have one repetitive
[1:06:30] thought pattern going on in your mind
[1:06:32] for hours or even days you don't have to
[1:06:34] follow every thought when you're aware
[1:06:36] you watch the thought then it comes what
[1:06:41] you're going to do this is to this
[1:06:42] obnoxious person I'm going to kill this
[1:06:44] obnoxious person comes to thought and
[1:06:47] sand and salt drifts out of until where
[1:06:50] nice remains and then it's lost power
[1:06:54] already it's nothing so you find a
[1:06:58] spacious relationship with your thoughts
[1:07:02] that's you are not you are nothing that
[1:07:05] arises in that beautiful space of who
[1:07:10] you are the consciousness that you are
[1:07:12] which is spacious intelligence none of
[1:07:16] that is who you they are forms they come
[1:07:18] and go so thought is not a problem be
[1:07:23] there as the witness to what goes on
[1:07:28] inside you then change happens by itself
[1:07:32] the mind will always have good and bad
[1:07:36] up and down it has polarities but that's
[1:07:41] not who you are and you don't have to
[1:07:43] act on it increasingly you act from the
[1:07:47] state of where presence action can come
[1:07:51] from the limiting mind and it's not
[1:07:54] usually skillful action or action can
[1:07:57] arise out of the state of aware presence
[1:08:03] so that's the end of guilt what's the
[1:08:09] test I mean how do you know how do you
[1:08:12] know that this is out of the words after
[1:08:14] the fact if you could go back and look
[1:08:15] at your I should come yeah that was out
[1:08:17] of Lorna snow but that wasn't how would
[1:08:20] you know well you know awareness doesn't
[1:08:22] create suffering for yourself or others
[1:08:26] when it comes out of awareness so you
[1:08:30] know when you look at action it has a
[1:08:33] totally different quality to it it's not
[1:08:36] self-serving the action did not happen
[1:08:38] because you needed something from that
[1:08:41] person awareness is not needy when
[1:08:45] action arises out of awareness you do
[1:08:47] not need to use the other human being
[1:08:49] for some purpose ulterior motive but
[1:08:54] when you act out of the conditioned mind
[1:08:56] the egoic mind you're always trying to
[1:08:59] not you're not only trying to use the
[1:09:02] present moment because you're hoping to
[1:09:03] get to some better moment you make the
[1:09:06] present moment into a means to an end
[1:09:08] you also make other human beings into a
[1:09:10] means to an end because you want
[1:09:12] something through them so that's where
[1:09:15] the you want to be with a beautiful
[1:09:18] woman you because you want to be seen
[1:09:20] with her or you want to conquer hands
[1:09:24] and so enhance yourself image all you
[1:09:27] want sexual pleasure from her but you
[1:09:30] want something if you if you're acting
[1:09:32] out of awareness it's not the acting is
[1:09:35] not under the law of wanting it's not
[1:09:39] that you want anything and that's also
[1:09:41] where loving action can only arise out
[1:09:43] of that because love does not want
[1:09:45] anything true love does not want
[1:09:48] anything so that's where it's it's
[1:09:53] totally selfless action and when you
[1:09:55] look back on it you can see very clearly
[1:09:58] whether there were self in the action
[1:10:00] you wanted something for yourself to
[1:10:03] enhance yourself or whether that was
[1:10:05] truly action totally free of self and
[1:10:11] that's the most effective and the most
[1:10:13] powerful action is
[1:10:14] when the self the image of me the
[1:10:18] thought structure of me comes goes out
[1:10:20] of the action and action arises that is
[1:10:23] totally selfless that action doesn't
[1:10:27] create problems such the Buddhist monk
[1:10:29] said when he was asked what's the
[1:10:32] meaning of Zen saying Buddhism what's
[1:10:36] the meaning of sin and the monk said oh
[1:10:39] that's easy
[1:10:40] no self no problem that's it so you
[1:10:47] begin to live and act without the
[1:10:51] mentally constructed self you live from
[1:10:54] the aware presence but for a while the
[1:10:58] two are there and the awareness often
[1:11:01] comes in after something has happened
[1:11:03] that was unconscious and you see it
[1:11:06] don't beat yourself up he's only the
[1:11:08] human condition but whenever you see
[1:11:11] unconsciousness has just happened or
[1:11:14] happened the other day and now you see
[1:11:16] or you see it in the middle of it it's
[1:11:19] good to see it the more you see the more
[1:11:22] awake you become don't personalize it
[1:11:27] it's nothing it's not who you are that's
[1:11:30] the main thing
[1:11:32] so can the now make me rich powerful
[1:11:36] free happy smarter more loving more
[1:11:41] loved yes all of those things yes let's
[1:11:48] start with rich and then we'll look at
[1:11:50] the next one
[1:11:51] can the now make me rich yes now what
[1:11:55] does it mean to be rich rich means it's
[1:12:00] not what people think it is it's not to
[1:12:02] have lots of possessions that may be one
[1:12:04] aspect of being rich but rich means to
[1:12:07] be in touch with the fullness of life
[1:12:09] and the only place where you can find
[1:12:12] the fullness of life the intense
[1:12:15] aliveness that you sense when you are
[1:12:18] present or now just here
[1:12:24] when you are open to the present moment
[1:12:30] what comes in is a gratitude for what is
[1:12:36] no matter what it's a little plant the
[1:12:40] air you're breathing the light that's
[1:12:42] coming through the window the sound of
[1:12:45] the bird
[1:12:46] whatever is there's a goodness to it and
[1:12:49] even if it looks bad even if it's a dead
[1:12:52] animal or dead human when you are
[1:12:54] totally aligned with the present moment
[1:12:56] there's a peace that comes into your
[1:13:02] perceptions and where that peace comes
[1:13:05] the gratitude that is very deep and so
[1:13:09] you're experiencing really life for the
[1:13:12] first time when you become present and
[1:13:15] so to be in a state of gratitude from
[1:13:18] what is is really what being wealthy
[1:13:22] means the present moment is always
[1:13:26] enough and so the definition of wealthy
[1:13:31] real is to be to have enough to feel
[1:13:36] already the fullness of life an
[1:13:39] expression that Jesus used he said I
[1:13:41] want you to have the fullness of life
[1:13:43] and people didn't quite understand what
[1:13:47] he meant
[1:13:49] most Jesus talking about shopping malls
[1:13:56] that you have hundreds 500 shops in one
[1:13:59] huge shopping mall and you have
[1:14:01] thousands of things to choose from
[1:14:03] was he predicting the arrival of
[1:14:07] shopping malls is that the fullness of
[1:14:10] life we can walk around and buy and have
[1:14:12] lots of money and credit cards and you
[1:14:14] can buy anything you like now there are
[1:14:16] people who can do that they are not
[1:14:18] happy so then he's not talking about a
[1:14:23] many many things when he talks about the
[1:14:25] fullness of life it's not he's talking
[1:14:27] about the one thing it's to feel the
[1:14:31] intensity of being alive and you can
[1:14:34] only feel that intensity of aliveness
[1:14:36] when you're in
[1:14:37] moment with your attention one way of
[1:14:40] being in the present moment as you know
[1:14:42] is to feel the inner aliveness of the
[1:14:44] body to feel the aliveness that is in
[1:14:47] every cell of the body it's alive them
[1:14:51] and the more you go there the stronger
[1:14:53] that feeling becomes and once you are
[1:14:55] connected with that you feel that the
[1:14:57] world around you is intense new life -
[1:14:59] it was alive before but you didn't see
[1:15:02] it because there was too much thought
[1:15:03] stuff going through your mind
[1:15:05] continuously the world became dead
[1:15:07] because everything was immediately
[1:15:08] labeled mentally that's a tree that's a
[1:15:11] dog the moment you label it and you
[1:15:14] don't look anymore it's not alive
[1:15:16] anymore
[1:15:16] everything gets dead and just through
[1:15:18] mental abstraction when you go around
[1:15:19] the voice in your head immediately
[1:15:22] calling things calling things names
[1:15:24] giving things names so when you become
[1:15:27] more present this is alert attention
[1:15:30] with which you meet your surroundings
[1:15:33] [Music]
[1:15:36] once you know the fullness of life that
[1:15:39] is already here now and then gratitude
[1:15:42] arises for what is no matter what it is
[1:15:47] then living in this way eventually that
[1:15:52] fullness that in essence is an inner
[1:15:58] realization rather than outer that's so
[1:16:02] that's the foundation for wealth is to
[1:16:05] feel the fullness of life within and
[1:16:09] then if you live in that way in Kentucky
[1:16:12] connectedness with that eventually the
[1:16:17] fullness of life but also manifest for
[1:16:19] you externally in various ways
[1:16:22] meaningful activity is a form of wealth
[1:16:30] to know that what you're doing is
[1:16:34] helping other human beings brings an
[1:16:37] external fullness also into your life
[1:16:40] which is a form of wealth and wealth may
[1:16:43] also come in the form of things coming
[1:16:47] to you
[1:16:49] more conventional things home or car or
[1:16:55] whatever it may be those things also
[1:16:58] come much more easily when basically you
[1:17:04] already feel the fullness even long
[1:17:07] before it comes externally so basically
[1:17:12] you feel already wealthy when you live
[1:17:15] fully in the present moment you never
[1:17:18] feel really poor I perhaps spent 10
[1:17:21] years of my life at least living what
[1:17:23] people would say below the poverty line
[1:17:26] and I never felt poor I always felt rich
[1:17:31] although for a long time I had nothing
[1:17:33] no external possessions but life was so
[1:17:37] it was so fulfilling to live every
[1:17:41] moment fully present to the moment that
[1:17:44] life it felt I felt wealthy abundant and
[1:17:49] much much later and it actually external
[1:17:53] abundance come into my life to some
[1:17:56] extent and that didn't make me feel
[1:17:59] better
[1:18:00] I feel just it when now I have a car
[1:18:04] during those years I used to bicycle
[1:18:07] mostly or the bus and I don't feel
[1:18:12] better now because I have a nice car
[1:18:14] I feel exactly the same but just like
[1:18:17] it's nice to have a nice comfortable car
[1:18:20] with air conditioning in the summer and
[1:18:23] so but it makes the fullness hasn't
[1:18:27] changed it hasn't done anything to
[1:18:30] change that so too already
[1:18:34] the foundation is to be fully alive in
[1:18:38] the present moment and then it is much
[1:18:42] more likely that external Wealth's will
[1:18:44] also come to you as a outer
[1:18:46] manifestation of an inner reality
[1:18:50] if you feel wealthy already but if you
[1:18:52] feel poor and feel that you really you
[1:18:55] need to make money now even if you
[1:18:58] achieve it you'll be unhappy with your
[1:19:02] wealth
[1:19:03] because it comes out of the unhappiness
[1:19:05] so there are many people who creating
[1:19:08] wealth these days they built up a big
[1:19:10] business on enterprise but it comes out
[1:19:12] of a deep dissatisfaction with what is
[1:19:16] it comes out of an enormous neediness to
[1:19:19] show to the world that you are somebody
[1:19:21] or to prove to yourself or the world how
[1:19:25] good you are and that can that is not
[1:19:30] conducive to true happiness the wealth
[1:19:34] there are many wealthy people who are
[1:19:36] unhappy in their wealth so that's and
[1:19:40] they are not really wealthy and they
[1:19:43] they are basically still deprived they
[1:19:46] are deprived of the fullness of life and
[1:19:49] they have perhaps five or ten houses in
[1:19:53] different places
[1:19:54] cars yacht and yet they are deprived of
[1:19:59] the fullness and so they need more and
[1:20:01] more and it doesn't help so here we have
[1:20:08] living in the present moment brings you
[1:20:10] into the fullness of life now and then
[1:20:12] eventually it will also manifest in
[1:20:15] different ways externally for you
[1:20:17] power was the other thing will it bring
[1:20:20] me power yes but not power to the ego it
[1:20:23] will make your life more empowered then
[1:20:28] what you do much greater power flows
[1:20:31] into what you do because what you're
[1:20:36] doing the action that you are performing
[1:20:38] whatever it is in the present moment the
[1:20:40] only place where you can do anything the
[1:20:43] action that you are performing in the
[1:20:45] present moment is not a means to an end
[1:20:48] for most people they are active but we
[1:20:54] are active because they want to get
[1:20:55] there to that point in the future they
[1:20:59] want to the end result their eyes on the
[1:21:01] end result so they may be busy building
[1:21:04] up a business because they want to
[1:21:06] become wealthy but they reduce the
[1:21:09] quality and aliveness of the present
[1:21:11] moment because they are reducing the
[1:21:13] present moment to a means
[1:21:15] and they give it inferior inferior
[1:21:17] status in their minds the future is more
[1:21:22] important because that's where they're
[1:21:23] going to be wealthy but then the pattern
[1:21:25] remains inside them and even when they
[1:21:28] have the money they still have the same
[1:21:32] basic psychological pattern which means
[1:21:34] they need to the next moment and always
[1:21:36] they reduce the present moment to a
[1:21:38] means to an end so the action is not of
[1:21:42] high quality does not contribute to
[1:21:45] happiness they don't make themselves
[1:21:48] happy and they don't make others happy
[1:21:49] with what they do so that's not truly
[1:21:54] empowered and it is low quality action
[1:21:57] high quality action comes when you don't
[1:22:00] reduce the present moment to a means to
[1:22:02] an end
[1:22:02] that's truly empowered action it only
[1:22:04] when you no longer reduce this moment to
[1:22:07] a means to an end can you give your full
[1:22:09] attention to whatever it is that you are
[1:22:12] doing now some great artists do it
[1:22:16] sportsmen do it when they perform they
[1:22:21] are totally present it's not a means to
[1:22:24] an end
[1:22:25] they're totally in the now and so
[1:22:28] high-quality action comes out of that
[1:22:31] and this is empowered action so living
[1:22:35] in the now brings power into your life
[1:22:38] true power not the pseudo power of the
[1:22:40] ego and then whatever comes out of it
[1:22:44] out of that action will be good in one
[1:22:50] way or another it will not be one could
[1:22:52] say I call it it's not karmic action
[1:22:55] which means karmic action it's an
[1:22:57] eastern term Karma calming action
[1:23:00] creates more happiness it comes out of
[1:23:03] unhappiness and creates more unhappiness
[1:23:06] for yourself into others but out of
[1:23:08] presence alignment with now comes non
[1:23:12] karmic action it does not create more
[1:23:15] suffering on the planet because so many
[1:23:18] people are very very active but a lot of
[1:23:22] that activity ultimately creates more
[1:23:24] suffering on the planet so that's the
[1:23:27] power
[1:23:28] what's the next thing that the null will
[1:23:30] bring you and what was the question I
[1:23:32] really want to know about guilt I feel
[1:23:39] guilty oh you know all the time for
[1:23:41] little things I'm doing or that I'm not
[1:23:43] doing and there are things that I know I
[1:23:47] did that were mistakes to other people
[1:23:49] so I know that you're supposed to be
[1:23:54] free and liberated in the now but
[1:23:57] shouldn't I feel bad about this stuff I
[1:24:00] mean and what's gonna keep me if I'm
[1:24:03] free and liberated in the now from like
[1:24:05] doing bad things to people because I'm
[1:24:09] that's a fear I think the only place
[1:24:12] where you can be free of the
[1:24:13] conditioning of your mind because
[1:24:15] freedom is not an external thing it's an
[1:24:18] internal thing you can be in prison and
[1:24:21] you can be free people have written to
[1:24:23] me from prison and they've read the
[1:24:24] power of now and they said they now feel
[1:24:27] free what does that mean true freedom is
[1:24:31] freedom from your mind from the
[1:24:34] conditioned all the conditioned thoughts
[1:24:37] and emotions that otherwise otherwise
[1:24:41] control you freedom is the freedom to
[1:24:44] step back from the conditioning into the
[1:24:48] deeper I the awareness that you are it's
[1:24:54] freedom from thought ultimately so that
[1:24:59] not every sort controls you so that's
[1:25:03] it's a freedom from conditioning and
[1:25:05] basically it's the freedom from the past
[1:25:09] so you're no longer determined your
[1:25:12] behavior and your thinking is no longer
[1:25:14] determined by your past it's also
[1:25:17] freedom from future because most people
[1:25:19] have a desperate need for the next
[1:25:22] moment its I call it psychological
[1:25:24] future they need the fulfillment that
[1:25:27] they think the future will bring them it
[1:25:31] won't so this is something for you to be
[1:25:35] aware enough because I know that pattern
[1:25:36] also still operates in you believing
[1:25:40] that something
[1:25:41] in the future we'll bring you greater
[1:25:44] fulfillment than you have now but it
[1:25:49] won't if you don't have it now you won't
[1:25:52] have it then you have to access the
[1:25:55] power of now regardless of your external
[1:25:58] circumstances you can have that now you
[1:26:04] can't wait for the future because once
[1:26:06] you're in the waiting mode you'll always
[1:26:09] be waiting for the next moment even when
[1:26:11] you become a famous actor it won't feel
[1:26:14] quite right maybe already famous I don't
[1:26:16] know but it won't feel quite right and
[1:26:19] and you will there will be many things
[1:26:21] when you're very famous I've met one or
[1:26:25] two famous actors and they come to this
[1:26:28] teaching why do they come bottom don't
[1:26:31] they have everything no they've realized
[1:26:33] they don't have what really matters and
[1:26:35] suddenly they discover the spiritual
[1:26:37] dimension because they've achieved
[1:26:38] everything else on the worldly dimension
[1:26:44] so go deeply into the present moment
[1:26:48] become deeply aligned and at one with
[1:26:50] the only thing that ever is in your life
[1:26:52] the present moment and that is that is
[1:26:58] where true power resides and that is the
[1:27:01] only place where you can be truly free
[1:27:07] what's the next thing that you want
[1:27:10] happiness it can happiness come in the
[1:27:13] future when I achieve this or that then
[1:27:17] I'll be happy when I make it but every
[1:27:20] situation that you go into will have a
[1:27:24] downside it's not if you're expecting
[1:27:28] circumstances to make you happy they can
[1:27:30] do that for a while and then you find oh
[1:27:33] it's not quite what I expected and
[1:27:35] there's always another side to it and
[1:27:37] very often the very thing that makes you
[1:27:41] happy if you have an external thing that
[1:27:43] makes you happy that very thing will
[1:27:46] also make you unhappy an example a woman
[1:27:51] comes into your life who makes you happy
[1:27:55] one two three years later the same woman
[1:28:00] makes you unhappy it's the same thing or
[1:28:05] your a job a great job is offered to you
[1:28:08] and it creates so much stress that you
[1:28:11] make yourself ill it makes you happy
[1:28:14] first and it makes you unhappy you
[1:28:17] become famous and then you see the
[1:28:19] downside of fame you can't go out in the
[1:28:22] street alone anymore
[1:28:23] there's a riot the moment people see you
[1:28:25] you're president of your house you can't
[1:28:28] go out without two or three bodyguards
[1:28:30] is that freedom and you thought you
[1:28:33] would be free when you become famous
[1:28:35] I've met one or two famous people or
[1:28:38] they can't go out alone it's too
[1:28:42] dangerous
[1:28:42] and and people stop them all the time
[1:28:44] and think either around them they have
[1:28:47] to stay inside everything has to be
[1:28:49] organized after jumping the car with
[1:28:51] tinted windows and bodyguards is that
[1:28:55] freedom are they happy because of their
[1:28:57] fame no they have experience in town
[1:28:58] site of fame it doesn't mean that you
[1:29:01] should not pursue goals there's nothing
[1:29:04] wrong with being famous but don't expect
[1:29:06] you to make you happy
[1:29:08] the true happiness has to be found it
[1:29:11] comes from being aligned with life
[1:29:18] internally and where's that now here a
[1:29:24] complete openness and yes to the present
[1:29:27] moment that takes you deep into the
[1:29:29] present moment that is true happiness
[1:29:32] comes out of that and then you can go on
[1:29:37] and do things and see if you can become
[1:29:39] famous why not experience that
[1:29:41] experience as much as you can without
[1:29:45] hoping that some experience or when
[1:29:48] you've accumulated enough experiences
[1:29:50] you'll finally feel fulfilled and fully
[1:29:53] yourself that won't happen
[1:29:55] there's no end to accumulating
[1:29:58] experiences and achieving this or that
[1:30:00] you cannot find yourself there you can
[1:30:04] only find yourself in the present moment
[1:30:06] the own for everything else you
[1:30:08] time to achieve success in your career
[1:30:13] to learn to play the piano to learn a
[1:30:16] foreign language even - if you want to
[1:30:19] meet a woman it takes time you have to
[1:30:21] walk somewhere where the beautiful women
[1:30:23] hang out and then you have to it takes
[1:30:25] time everything takes time and so the
[1:30:28] mind things okay finding myself who I
[1:30:33] truly am will also take time it thinks
[1:30:37] when I added enough to who I think I am
[1:30:40] maybe recognition from other people Fame
[1:30:43] some possessions put all these things
[1:30:46] into the back of my back I'm gonna have
[1:30:49] enough things accumulated then I will be
[1:30:52] full and that moment will come at some
[1:30:54] point in the future it doesn't because
[1:30:56] the back no matter how much you put in
[1:30:58] it will never feel full besides from the
[1:31:03] fact that also often things fall out of
[1:31:05] the back you put something in here and
[1:31:07] something else falls out you suddenly
[1:31:10] get Wealth's and then you're unhappy in
[1:31:11] your marriage or you're happy in your
[1:31:13] marriage and suddenly the job doesn't
[1:31:15] work anymore or you're it's always
[1:31:19] there's nothing stability isn't to be
[1:31:22] found in the external world in constant
[1:31:24] flux this universe is not stable people
[1:31:29] have this absurd illusion that they're
[1:31:31] living in a stable universe and that
[1:31:33] they can have some kind of stability in
[1:31:35] their lives they are shocked when
[1:31:37] suddenly big disasters happened and you
[1:31:40] realise how unstable really everything
[1:31:43] is so if you looked and that doesn't
[1:31:46] mean is to be rejected play in the world
[1:31:48] and enjoy the play play as much as you
[1:31:51] can but don't expect anything out there
[1:31:54] to truly make you happy or fulfill you
[1:31:57] happiness is to be found directly within
[1:32:02] yourself it comes from being connected
[1:32:07] with who you are this comes as being
[1:32:12] suspect where we started to be in touch
[1:32:16] to feel the deeper I and there's
[1:32:19] enormous joy in simply feeling
[1:32:22] the beingness that you are to feel the I
[1:32:25] am that is deeper than this or that I am
[1:32:30] leave the very life that you are to feel
[1:32:33] that to feel alive that's out of that
[1:32:38] comes true happiness and then you can
[1:32:41] play around in the world and you acquire
[1:32:45] things and then you lose things require
[1:32:50] some more and then you lose some more
[1:32:52] and then you add in the end you lose
[1:32:54] everything that's everybody does you
[1:32:56] lose the body in the engines form
[1:33:01] dissolves sooner or later but it's
[1:33:04] finding something that is deeper than
[1:33:07] any form inside yourself that's true
[1:33:12] happiness love also come true love comes
[1:33:18] only out of the true eye true love
[1:33:24] cannot cannot come out of the psuedo eye
[1:33:26] that says I the actor I the good-looking
[1:33:32] actor I the famous actor I the American
[1:33:37] I the poor one or I the wealthy one or I
[1:33:42] who is good with women true love doesn't
[1:33:45] come out of that eye
[1:33:47] it's a pseudo eye that's what most
[1:33:50] people refer to when they use it worth
[1:33:52] it so common eye but the true love comes
[1:33:55] out and you're connected with the deeper
[1:33:57] eye the eye that has no form the one
[1:34:04] thing that never leaves you the one
[1:34:06] ingredient that's always there no matter
[1:34:08] where you are what you do what you
[1:34:10] experience it never changes the eye the
[1:34:17] consciousness that you are when you live
[1:34:20] in connectedness with that aligned with
[1:34:23] that that's where true love comes
[1:34:26] because when you meet another human
[1:34:28] being you can sense in them also there's
[1:34:33] the depths of
[1:34:34] say my that is your identity you
[1:34:37] recognize yourself in the other and the
[1:34:40] other s yourself and you feel a deep
[1:34:44] connectedness much deeper than anything
[1:34:47] that you can say or think with the other
[1:34:51] human being and that's true love love is
[1:34:54] to feel that you're ultimately not
[1:34:57] separate you're one that can only come
[1:35:00] out of the spaciousness there is part of
[1:35:06] and now and now is space what happens in
[1:35:12] the now is formed don't confuse the two
[1:35:17] the reason why people think there are
[1:35:19] many many moments in every day in every
[1:35:25] in your lifetime in every hour because
[1:35:30] what happens change is continuously the
[1:35:33] forms around you change continuously the
[1:35:35] thoughts that go through your head
[1:35:36] change the emotions that you feel change
[1:35:38] the people around you change so people
[1:35:42] think every time it's a new moment this
[1:35:44] moment in another moment into another
[1:35:45] moment she looked more deeply you see
[1:35:47] it's not another moment it's always now
[1:35:50] but the form that appears in the now
[1:35:54] changes continuously but it's always now
[1:35:57] and ultimately now is who you are the
[1:36:03] space of now is this place of I and then
[1:36:11] things happen in it and they change
[1:36:13] continuously so they're two ways of
[1:36:16] saying when they ask you what is it that
[1:36:19] never changes what is it that's always
[1:36:21] there in your life no matter where
[1:36:23] you're going what you do you can say
[1:36:25] it's always I the deepest I not the
[1:36:29] superficial I that changes the thoughts
[1:36:32] emotions who you are in the world but
[1:36:36] the deeper eyes always that that's
[1:36:38] always the same and so another way of
[1:36:41] looking at it is say it's always now and
[1:36:46] now never changes
[1:36:47] and then you find the miraculous thing
[1:36:51] they're actually won the space of now
[1:36:55] and who you are in the depths of your
[1:36:58] being is consciousness itself before it
[1:37:02] becomes something the very foundation
[1:37:06] out of which all life comes you could
[1:37:08] say God God dwells in the depth of your
[1:37:12] being not as some entity but as the
[1:37:18] formless one life itself that is the
[1:37:24] deepest meaning of what now is and
[1:37:26] that's whether now can they believe you
[1:37:29] so I am and now in essence I am NOT what
[1:37:36] happens
[1:37:37] I am the space in which everything
[1:37:41] happens that's your true identity and
[1:37:47] when you live one with that knowing that
[1:37:51] your life will be fruitful and a great
[1:37:55] and wonderful adventure when you don't
[1:37:59] know who you are then no matter what you
[1:38:04] do what you'd see where you go who you
[1:38:08] meet it won't satisfy you that's how
[1:38:15] simple it is
